If I could rate it a zero I would... I would like to preface this review with the fact that I have worked in a service industry job for years. I am not one to leave tarnishing reviews unless it is absolute truth. I started with Farmers Insurance when I bought my car towards the end of October. This was the first car that I had ever bought and my parents had been with Farmers for 10 years so I decided this would be a good place to go. After getting multiple quotes from plenty of companies, I wrote my own insurance online which is a service plenty of insurance companies use. After my six months had come up, I was sent a bill for the next six months. I found it odd that I was being charged almost $70 more than the previous six months even though I had no tickets or accidents. But because I was renewing my insurance around tax season, I was more concerned with taxes so I simply let my account automatically pay as it had stated it would on my invoice. As it also stated on the invoice, I was charged an extra fee of $25 because my bank would not allow the charge. At this point I called the agent that was assigned to my account, which was Debra. I called in the morning around 9:30am. She didn't call me back until 4:30pm which I felt was kind of a long wait. Maybe she was busy, understandable, that's fine. I was already at work at this point but I answered the phone. I explained that my account's automatic pay didn't go through and I had a few questions. She immediately responded with a short, "no, your account isn't automatic pay." Short, rude, and blunt. I replied that it was stated on my invoice that it was automatic pay to which she replied, "Do you have the papers because it isn't." I told her that I was at work until 11pm and I didn't have the papers with me. At this point she said there was no way for her to look up my account so she would have to call me back the next day. Tomorrow: no call. Next day: no call. The day after: no call. Thus I let my account cancel as the invoice said it would because I was unhappy with the services. About 2 months after I receive an email stating that I owe another $74 on my account. At this point I call Debra again. It was after hours so I was not surprised to get an answering machine. I left a message, annnnddd... didn't get a call back. Three days go by and no call. (No missed calls on my phone either...) I called on my lunch break today to somehow FINALLY get Debra on the line. She immediately begins an argument with me about my account. She was totally unable to tell me what the $74 charge was even for. And then she said one of the worst things someone who is in a job that provides a service could say... "Well I haven't made a cent off of your account so I honestly don't care." Not kidding. These are the actual words she said. I am totally disgusted with the service at this agency. I'm sure Farmers as a whole is great but this woman is not. I would never recommend this to my worst enemy, let alone a friend.

  • I had progressive for years, and had thought I was paying a good price due to there awesome commercials. Debra contacted me couple times politely asking to quote me insurance. I figured it would just be a waste of time. About a year later when I saw my rates increase again I called Debra for a quote. She took the time to show me that I was under-insured. She increased my liability coverage, gave me an umbrella policy on top of it and saved me I couple of dollars a month. I couldn't believe, it more coverage for less.
