  • Reference: I live in one of the more expensive units on the south side of Watts road far back from the traffic. For the first time in my life, I have an in-unit washer and drier! The. Neighbors are nice and the staff friendly and helpful. Underground parking is limited. Cats are allowed without a pet rent (up to two cats, I think). Snow removal is prompt and the ground keeping is good. The pool is nice for cooling off in the hot summer and the hot tub is nice on a cold day. The office will receive packages, so don't worry about having to drive out to the UPS facility. I have signed a lease for the third year, each year the rent only increasing by $10. Rental price is about standard for this area of Madison. Air conditioning is a through-the-wall unit and heating is inefficient baseboard heating. Living in a first-floor, north-facing, 2-bed/2-bath unit, my winter electric bill can be $200/month, summer with AC running $75/month, without heating or cooling about $30/month. At 6'2", I find the exercise room unusable, tucked away in the basement with low ceilings. Likewise, the "clubhouse" room is only available during the office hours, making it fairly useless. The office is supposed to be open until 6:00pm Monday through Thursday, but I have found it closed by 5:16pm. Public transit is a bit limited and cycling on the busy roads is a bit nerve-racking. Some rules seems arbitrary; after 18 months, I was asked to take down the bird feeder. However, I have noticed several apartments with bird feeders. Overall, I like living here. I wouldn't mind a place closer to the isthmus, but cost climbs sharply and quality decreases rapidly the closer to the isthmus one looks.
